Volvo 2.5 Turbo
This Volvo head is basically the same as the Ford head. It has a slightly different valve angle to the Ford, and the Ford uses variable valve timing, but otherwise this is the same head with the same flow. Hence we provide the same flow stats below.
The 260BHP standard engine as fitted to the 2007 S60 gives excellent smooth power.
The standard inlet/exhaust ratio of 87% is pretty good. We were able to improve this further to 94% with a healthy 16% inlet increase and an all important (for a turbo) 24% increase on the exhaust side. With the right turbo and intercooler set up this head can deliver in excess of 400BHP with excellent torque and improved tubo response over standard. Because the head flows 24% better on the exhaust side than standard you will see improved turbo response and a reduced turbo lag. A larger turbo will also be better served by this head.
Cost for this head is £1500.00 + vat on an exchange basis. (£1000 exchange). A ‘taping’ service is also available for this head at an additional cost of £100 which will give the final hand finish to the ports and provide a further 1% flow.
Note : flow diagrams show flow against specific valve openings at 0.050 inch valve openings at 10″ pressure. Therefore actual flow volume increase is measured as the area under the graph (indicated in yellow for inlet and blue for exhaust). Standard valve sizes are used on our heads unless specified as a big valve version. Tests shown here are carried out on a flow bench on a bare head without filters. Therefore the difference between a standard engine with standard inlet ducting and filters will be larger than shown here.

They can also be specifically designed to deliver the power characteristics you require for your specific application.Your existing camshaft will work with our heads, however, if you want to get the most from one of these heads or you have a particular power characteristics you are looking for, we recommend that you consider our custom camshafts.
