Volkswagon VR6

This is our head for the VR6 . An iconic version of the Golf legend. The VR6 is and engine with heaps of potential for tuning. Great power and torque from the standard engine is given a great boost from this head. Our gas flow measurements show that it has very good inlet flow but there was a lot of room for improvement on the exhaust side. After a challenging and extensive period on the flow bench we were able to raise the Inlet flow by 6% to 161.6 CFM. On the exhaust side we were able to make a huge increase of 30% to 129CF. This level of flow mean this engine is capable of on over 400BHP in normally aspirated form. (Turbo applications are popular on this head and we would expect over 800 bhp if this head were used with a turbo modification.)



Cost for this head is £1250.00 + vat on an exchange basis (Exchange £600) A 'taping' service is also available for this head at an additional cost of £100 which will give the final hand finish to the ports and provide a further 1% flow. This price includes valves.

Note : flow diagrams show flow against specific valve openings at 0.050 inch valve openings at 10" pressure. Therefore actual flow volume increase is measured as the area under the graph (indicated in yellow for inlet and blue for exhaust). Standard valve sizes are used on our heads unless specified as a big valve version. Tests shown here are carried out on a flow bench on a bare head without filters. Therefore the difference between a standard engine with standard inlet ducting and filters will be larger than shown here.
