Ford Crossflow (Alloy Big valve version)
Since first appearing in 1967, the immensely popular Kent Crossflow engine has been used to power various models of Cortina, Capri, Escort and, in transverse form, the XR2 Fiesta. It has been an option for kitcars and Morgan, Caterham 7, Westfield sports cars and Formula Ford and has achieved lasting fame in many areas of motorsport.
This head, made from Aluminium alloy and featuring bigger valves and a unique port shape is a huge improvement on the standard iron head. We have achieved an astonishing 59% improvement in inlet flow and 53% improvement in exhaust flow. Our power predictions (and remember we have every confidence in these predictions because we build the engines with these heads and test them on our engine dyno) are for 204 BHP at 8100 rpm and 230 BHP at 10100 rpm. (yes these engines really will rev this high !). If weight is an issue, this head will also save some precious kilos. Also, because this is a brand new head we avoid any quality issues with machining old used heads (often iron heads are 25 years old !) . This head is a direct replacement for an iron head and can be bolted on in exactly the same way.

This head is intended for race purposes or road car owners who simply want ultimate power from their cars. This head increases the engine's full potential and allows you to take your tuning as far as you want with the absolute maximum flow using this bigger valve size. An excellent performance upgrade for this classic engine.
Remember, all our heads are fully balanced across the cylinders. The CFM ratings we state here are exactly what you get and we have tested power predictions on our Dyno to within 1 BHP of our prediction. Buy with absolute confidence that you are buying a head with a huge amount of expert development work built in and will perform as we say they will.

Cost for this head is £995.00 + vat . A 'taping' service is also available for this head at an additional cost of £100 which will give the final hand finish to the ports and provide a further 1% flow. Please note : Valves are supplied at extra cost on this head.

Note : flow diagrams show flow against specific valve openings at 0.050 inch valve openings at 10" pressure. Therefore actual flow volume increase is measured as the area under the graph (indicated in yellow for inlet and blue for exhaust). Standard valve sizes are used on our heads unless specified as a big valve version. Tests shown here are carried out on a flow bench on a bare head without filters. Therefore the difference between a standard engine with standard inlet ducting and filters will be larger than shown here.

Custom made Camshafts With all of our gas flowed heads we also provide a custom made camshaft service. These camshafts are designed to optimise the flow characteristics of our heads. They can also be specifically designed to deliver the power characteristcs you require for your specific application. Your existing camshaft will work with our heads, however, if you want to get the most from one of these heads or you have a particular power characteristc you are looking for, we recommend that you consider our custom camshafts.
