Ford Focus RS

 Inspired by the Ford Focus WRC contender and boasting impressive performance credentials of its own, the Ford Focus RS is part of the new generation of Fast Fords. The Ford Focus RS delivers an exhilarating combination of exciting power and acceleration, confident and precise handling, assured braking efficiency, aggressive exterior styling and a purposeful, driver-oriented interior. On the track scene its excellent chassis and engine are the basis for seriously competitive race cars.

 

 

 

Powerful, light weight and durable, the ZETEC-R engine is a real gem. Our gas flow engineering process measures flow as per a normally aspirated engine as turbo boost on a modified car cannot be easily simulated. (we are working on a new modeling process for turbo engines so call us if you require more details). However, our flow figures are nonetheless impressive.16.7% improvement in CFM flow on the inlet and 22.6% improvement on exhaust at 10″ pressure. A normally aspirated engine could produce as much as 247 BHP at 8200 rpm. Depending on your boost, mapping, exhaust and other factors such as air temprature and barometric pressure, a turbo charged car could easily exceed 500 BHP with this head.

In a road car it would certainly be a quick but because you engine runs more efficiently with this head, it would also be controllable and usable with superb low down power, less turbo lag, a lower power band and better fuel economy. Racing is what this head is all about and we have already built a race engine for a client with 470BHP verified on out own engine dyno using this head and without the need for extreme levels of boost.

Note : flow diagrams show flow against specific valve openings at 0.050 inch valve openings at 10″ pressure. Therefore actual flow volume increase is measured as the area under the graph (indicated in yellow for inlet and blue for exhaust). Standard valve sizes are used on our heads unless specified as a big valve version. Tests shown here are carried out on a flow bench on a bare head without filters. Therefore the difference between a standard engine with standard inlet ducting and filters will be larger than shown here.

Cost for this head is £950.00 + vat on an exchange basis. (£350 exchange). A ‘taping’ service is also available for this head at an additional cost of £100 which will give the final hand finish to the ports and provide a further 1% flow. This price includes valves.
